It all began for me at the age of 13, when a friend took me fishing to the Berkel and the ASV Gescher club ponds, and I became fascinated with angling.

A year later at 14, I passed my fishing licence test so I could fish alone and became a member of the ASV Gescher club - where I celebrated my 40 years membership in 2015.

And so with my friend Matthias, and my short 1.80 m fiberglass rod, I went fishing often catching Roach, Bream, Carp and other coarse fish. In the 80’s I also took part in the Perch and Pike competitions at the club.

From 1985 to 2004 I was a dedicated Carp angler, fishing in a professional matter, putting many good fish on the scales.

The turning point came in 2004 when I started fishing the pole, but I also enjoy fishing with the match and feeder rod.

A nice Roach on the Bank.

In 2009 and 2010, I fished with Roger Lickfeldt for Verpa Team Germany and learned how to fish with Bloodworm & Joker, gaining valuable experience from ‘The Team van het Jaar’ and also the IAM (International Anglers Meet) in 2009 on the Silo canal in Brandenburg.

Since 2011, I have fished regularly with Roger Lickfeldt on many different waters, and have also taken part in many De Karper Winterswijk competitions where I was able to achieve some good results.

Here a nice Bream from the Rotte near Rotterdam.

In 2013 I was sponsored by einfachstippen.de and am now an integral part of this website. I take part in ‘einfachstippen.de on Tour’ events where we fish many different venues and fish with some of Europe’s top anglers, constantly learning new techniques to catch more fish.

Here I'm fishing the Weser with Roger and Günter Horler.
