England Trip
Update - 09.10.2016
Well our England Tour for 2016 is now over, and I have to report that it didn't run as smoothly as I would have liked. Little things can make all the difference, and it went a bit wrong when, on the way to England, we got an earlier ferry but Roger and Ingo didn't.
We also didn't take that many photos, so the reports are quite short this time. Sorry.
Not a good start, and Roger was not a happy bunny.
I didn't laugh, honest!
Congratulations to the Old Lags and captain Phil Foster on their victory on the Middle Level. See my report here: Old Lags Match
We are going over to England again this year in October, and we will hopefully be fishing with my old RAF team mates again - all being well, a little match is on the cards.
This year Roger, Theo and I will be joined by our new Einfachstippen team member Bruno Funk, and Ingo Becker and Erik Gloger will also be travelling over with us.
We are going to England on Sunday, 2 October and returning to Germany the following Sunday.
We have rented a really nice house near Wansford, so we can get to all the venues we need within an hour - River Nene, Old Nene, Forty Foot, River Great Ouse, Middle Level, etc. - and no, we won't be fishing on any commercial fisheries - natural venues only.
We will be using typical baits like squats, pinkies and groundbait, bread punch, hemp, maggots and chopped worm. Nearly all of our fishing will be with the pole, although I will also fish the waggler on some venues - maybe the others will give it a try too.
We will be fishing for Roach, Bream (Skimmers) & Perch, and maybe the odd Tench and Eel will show up too - especially on the Old Nene and the Forty Foot.
I will update our progress as we go through the week.
